Achoo...

Yes, we finally got sick! I took the kids out for their first indoor play group experience and they both got sick the next day. So no more of that! Then of course I got it too. I thought it was hard for me being sick, But it was unbearable for both kids and me being sick. Luckily Jimmy came home early to take care of us. We all are still coughing and sneezing, but the fevers are down and we are not so dizzy. Jimmy is the only one who can take preventative medicines so he is still doing well. This is just an update, I'm heading back to bed.

Stir crazy

I have decided that I do not like snow! Well, not more than one inch of it any way. Yes, it is absolutely beautiful to see fresh snow, but not so great when it prevents me from getting out of the house! With that said, I have given Jimmy the okay to settle our family in a warmer climate.

Kai is going crazy which in turn is making me go nutty. We need wide open spaces, fresh air and sunny days to frolic in. Ah, only a few more weeks (hopefully not months) until gorgeous spring in the city! I can see it now, the kids being pushed around town in their double stroller and me with a smile on my face!

Kid News

Kai's new addiction is silver dollar pancakes with fruit! On Valentine's day he had pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream. On normal days, he has pancakes with chocolate hazelnut spread and 'nanas'.

Baby Cassia is now six months old! She loves peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, and bananas. Her next new foods will be butternut squash, green beans and avocado.
She can sit up without assistance too!

tagged and fridge

Ok Sarah, here it is. My purse/diaper bag.
(click on pictures to see contents up close)

Oh, all that 'stuff' is laying on a changing pad. I love my snack bars and so does Kai!

Jimmy thought I should include a picture of this weeks' fridge content for fun. (Yep, I know lots of drinks and condiments!) We go grocery shopping a few times a week since it's all walking distance.

For the love of chocolate!

O.k. so much has happened over the weekend, but I will start with the chocolate event that we went to over the weekend. It's called 'For the love of chocolate'. It raises money for scholarships for the students of the French Pastry School. So cool and for a great cause. I took tons of pictures of the fashion show and have them posted but because I did not get model permission to post their pictures you can only see their dresses.

This was my favorite of the evening!

Loved the chocolate bling for the red dress!

Very Audrey!

Totally loved the purse.

pictures

Kai loves to go grocery shopping. He's my little helper!

Here the boys and Jimmy are making chocolate cupcakes!!

Waiting for them to bake in our toaster oven. Kai sans shirt because he got batter all over it!

Cassia's first time tasting rice cereal. She loves those fingers!

Tiff...thanks for sending these pictures to us...xoxo.

Baby rolled over!

Cassia rolled over to her tummy for the very first time today!!! I was so excited. Can't wait for Jimmy to see her roll over. Wow, what a milestone!
I think she is probably also starting to teethe, she constantly has her hand or a toy in her mouth and I have to change her outfits four times a day from all her drool!

I finally figured out a few things to do with the kids in all this cold and snow. Yesterday, we had a snow party. I went outside and scooped up three big bowls of snow and bought it into our kitchen for Kai and I to play with. We had a blast! It was entertainment for almost three hours! The best part is we weren't in the cold. We built snow mens and ice castles. So much fun, Kai wanted to do it again today.

Today, I started an alphabet book with Kai. I wrote an upper case letter and a lower case on a lunch sack and we clipped pictures from magazines that began with the letter on the bag and glued them to note cards to make our own flash cards. That took up half the day. Kai is starting to show interest in reading so I thought I should teach him the basics. He knows his shapes and colors, but only a few letters.

Super bowl tomorrow!!! I can't wait. What a day for junk food! We have bacon burgers, pizza, taquitos, nachos, buffalo chicken strips and chips planned for the whole day. Yes, we will eat everything. Not all at once of course, we are snackers and love to graze throughout the day. We were good and had steamed salmon with brown rice and spinach last night and tonight we had a vegetable and tofu stir fry. Kai loves fresh fish! He asked to have fish with spinach for dinner tonight too! I couldn't be happier. I wonder if Cassia will be a good eater too?
